PHP is a widely-used,general-purpose scripting language that is often used for web development. PHP code can be embedded into HTML. It generally runs on a web server, taking PHP code as its input and creating web pages as output. It can be deployed on most web servers and on almost every operating system and platform free of charge. A LAMP stack typically includes Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP.

The Lasso programming language provides us the ability to create dynamic web sites or applications with data source abstraction. Lasso is a scripting language similar in functionality to PHP. Lasso Dynamic Markup Language (LDML), can be written in a square bracket tag format which resembles HTML, or in a LassoScript format similar to many other scripting languages such as PHP, Perl, and Python. LDML can be written with procedural or object oriented techniques and structures, and supports numerous data types including arrays (indexed lists) and maps (name referenced lists). |
